I have tried every box joint jig/machine out there. I tried the one with the simple pin positioner, I tried the gear driven one that requires swapping out different gears for different joints, I tried the template based one- they all work, but I KNEW I could make something better!
This machine is designed to be used with your table saw dado blade to make box/finger joints quickly, easily and perfectly. There is no setup, no switching of templates (unless you like to use templates, which this machine also offers). You just stick the board in and you're off. You turn a micro-adjustable crank to advance the piece, one turn for 1/8", two turns for 1/4" and so on. This also allows you to make unique joints with different sized fingers without switching back and forth between jigs!
This machine was featured on episode #13 of the Blue Collar Woodworking.
