JUST FOR FUN

Something to think about while the glue dries...

(Quotes, thoughts and funny sayings collected from the all over the internet, and from the mind of Stumpy Nubs)

Glad I read the label on that Clorox. I was about to rub it in my eyes and keep it in the reach of so many children.

Don't glare at me lady! You're the one who named your kid Marco then yelled his name in the store!

Had no idea why my salad was $175, 'til the waiter explained that they only use Beets by Dre.

I hesitate to make fun of "Canadian bacon," because I know they'll eventually play the "American cheese" card.

Just found my birth certificate. Ugh, it's official: I've gained weight.

I just watched a show about burritos spinning in a circle because my television's broken and my microwave's not.

Stole my neighbors family portrait & got it tattooed on my back. Now I'm standing in their living room facing the wall 2 see if they notice.

I'm sorry, everyone who wrote stay cool in my yearbooks

IMPROVE YOUR WORKSHOP

ON THE WEB:

Homemade Job-site Table Saw

Up and coming YouTube jig maker, Cosmas Bauer needed another table saw. So he did what any good jig maker does. He made one. And he did it without using a table saw. Now, before you say "this has been done before," consider that Bauer's saw includes cleverly engineered wooden trunions so it tilts without losing blade height, just like a commercially made saw. And did I mention the saw is lightweight and portable?

ON THE WEB:

Swing-Out Tool Stand

Bellevue Woodshop comes up with a lot of clever homemade shop improvements. This time it's a tool stand that folds against the wall to save floor space. He mounts his homemade scroll saw on it, but I can imagine several other uses for this idea in my shop. What about you?

ON THE WEB:

DIY Push Block

While this homemade solution from Crazy Russian Wood Shop isn't as feature packed as the commercially made Gripper, it's still one of the better homemade versions I've seen. As a bonus, he includes a tutorial for bending acrylic (plexi-glass)!

There are several different styles of Forstner bits out there, and choosing the right one can make the difference between a nice, clean, flat-bottomed hole, and woodworking disaster! This video tells you everything you ever wanted to know about these boring tools.
